National
Tree Day 28th July 2013
Friends
of Lane Cove National Park are having a National Tree day
event designed to help restore and enhance the wild life
corridor along the Lane Cove River. It continues the great
work that was carried out on last year’s National
Tree day.
It
is a good opportunity to learn more about the flora and
fauna of LCNP. The site has easy access from River Avenue
and after the planting Friends of LCNP will be providing
a free sausage sizzle to thank the volunteers.
The
site is situated at the far end of River Avenue, which is
opposite the Delhi Road entrance to Lane Cove National Park.
Planting from 11.00 am.
Register
on the National Tree Day site http://treeday.planetark.org,
or for more information call Tony at 0407 194 664.

Most
of the issues brought up concerned pest animals and weeds,
stormwater and river health, future of the Tourist Park,
development in the Jenkins Precinct, ongoing use of Kukundi,
use of roads and walking tracks, development in the surrounding
area and pressure on the park.

Tree Day planting
Sunday
July 29th 2012 River
Avenue, Chatswood West
Friends
of Lane Cove National Park along with the local ‘Frog
Hollow Community Group’ hosted this event to consolidate
and extend an area where they have had previous very successful
planting days. This is a great chance to meet the local
community and learn a little about the bush while having
an enjoyable time, and making a difference for the future
of our environment.
