Lambertia formosa

Honey flower, Mountain devil

Family: Proteaceae

This is a rigidly branched shrub up to 2m high and wide. It is widespread over open forests and heath, flowering through the year but mainly in the spring and early summer.

The leaves are 3-5 cm long, hard, glossy green, paler underneath, with a sharp point.

The fruit is about 10mm across, woody with a short beak and a long horn on each of the two valves - the Mountain Devil.
