Section 8 Notification - Fishing Closure
Sydney Harbour (Port Jackson) and Tributaries
I,
Steve Dunn, prohibit the taking of fish by the methods of fishing specified
in Column 1 of Schedules 1 to 18 of this notification, from waters shown
opposite in Column 2, of those Schedules. Fishing will also be subject
to the 'conditions' or 'time periods' as specified in any schedule of
this notification.
This prohibition is effective for a period of up to five years from the
date of publication, unless sooner varied or revoked by notification of
Director-General of NSW Fisheries.
Note: The word 'Regulation', where appearing in this notification, refers
to the Fisheries Management (General) Regulation 2002.

The whole of
the tidal waters of Lane Cove River and its bays and tributaries,
upstream to the Epping Highway Bridge from a line drawn across the
river from the Valentia Street Wharf at Woolwich, generally south-easterly
to the Greenwich Wharf. |

Lane Cove River - Netting Closure

| By means of
nets of every description, except the landing net, as prescribed by
Regulation. |
The whole of
the tidal waters of that part of the Lane Cove River, together with
its bays and tributaries, from the Epping Highway Bridge, upstream
to a line drawn between two posts on opposite sides of the river at
Little Blue Gum Creek. |

Upper Lane Cove River (Lane Cove National Park) - Catch and Release

|
All
methods of fishing prohibited.
|
Area
1: That part of the waters of the Lane Cove River and its tributaries,
from a line drawn between two posts on opposite banks of the river
at the junction of Little Blue Gum Creek, (approximately 50 metres
downstream of the weir), upstream to a line drawn from a post at the
boatshed, to a post on the opposite bank.

| All
methods prohibited with the exception of two rods or lines with a
fly or lure attached from unpowered vessels only. Fishing from
river bank is prohibited. All fish caught shall be released
alive. |
Area
2: From the boatshed, upstream to a line drawn across the river between
two posts on opposite sides of the river, at picnic area number 20
(Fern Valley). |
| All
methods prohibited, other than up to two hand held lines each with
no more than two hooks attached or three treble hooks attached to
a lure. All fish caught shall be released alive. |
Area
3: All waters upstream of 'Fern Valley', from a line drawn across
the river between two posts on opposite sides of the river. |
